That may be the best high school game played in the last 10 years around here.

I was at all of those games and they were great, but last night's Hogoheege District Championship game was the best I've seen in a long time. Patrick Henry & George Wythe were tied with 3 seconds left. Point Guard from GW gets the ball, takes 3 dribbles, pulls up and banks in a half-courter to win the game. It was unbelievable. Up until that shot the game had gone back and fourth throughout the second half. It was a classic.
The test is simple, if "your" team wins a national championship, do you get a championship ring? If the answer is yes, then you can say "we." If not, you can't.

I never quite understood why some teams get a bye in the tournament and others do not.
If I understand this situation, Twin Valley and Gate City have a bye, only playing two games to win the championship, whereas Twin Springs must actually play three games in order to win the Region D Championship.

lol because there are only 6 teams man. 2 teams HAVE to have a bye. With 4 districts coming, that wont be the case, there wont be any byes.
Well obviously I understand that it's done that way, but I don't understand WHY or how the determination is made of which teams get the bye.
One team is obviously at a disadvantage.
It seems as though there would have to be a better system.

I think it rotates each year what seed/district gets the bye.
Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play. It is bound up with hatred, jealousy, boastfulness, disregard of all rules and sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence. In other words, it is war minus the shooting.
George Orwell
They just alternate every year to keep it fair, just as they alternate the site between the 3 districts every year. Really, there is no other fair way to do it. Last year the Cumberland got one of the byes, this year they didnt, that seems pretty fair to me.
I understand what you're saying.
When the region is re-structed, will the #2 seed teams still advance to the Regional championships?

Yes, it will be an eight team tournament.
